Hooded Figures Steal Creation

Here are lyrics to a song I wrote a few Years ago about the Cremation of Care; enjoy!

Hooded Figures Steal Creation

© 2009 Don Eichelberger

Hooded figures in a redwood glade
Burning the cares that Humanity made.
Free of Caring’s moderation,
Hooded figures steal creation.

Like their birthright, they pillage its fruits;
Mammon wearing steel toed boots,
They once tried to steal my soul by
Showing me the promised land.

But I know now, and they don’t like it,
That the land was made for every
Woman and man.
I stumble for the key to the temple tumbling down,
And I find a box to open with the truth to go around.

We take our power and we howl,
Our roar will shake their redwood wall,
Will shake their redwood wall all the way down
To the green, green ground.

We most certainly do not wear steel-toed boots! I usually wear my Vibram toe socks!

    • See? We have been saying the bohos have no sense of metaphor, or how iconic imagery is used to translate ideas. Otherwise, you would have done away with the Cremation of Care long ago.

Of course I was not implying that you wear steel toed boots at the grove (funny you didn’t make any comment about the comparison with Mammon, god of greed).

But greed is not shy about using steel toed boots in its pursuit of profits, from the Niger Delta to Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and on.

    • Fun username reference. Perhaps some relevance to the Grove…Kipling is always a good read…The Strange Ride Of Morrowbie Jukes

And, since it is perfectly true that in the same Desert is a wonderful city where all the rich moneylenders retreat after they have made their fortunes (fortunes so vast that the owners cannot trust even the strong hand of the Government to protect them, but take refuge in the waterless sands),

people really need to get your stories straight . It is not a all white club there are blacke asians . I have worked at the grove for 9 years .

    • Carolyn, I’m guessing it’s mostly white men. Do you think that group is a representative cross section of society?

    • Carolyn – How many Black CEO’s do you know? In fact, in the admittedly short amount of time compiling names to info I have found only one man of colour – a world renowned musician.

I’m not saying they’re racist because I don’t think they generally are…but it’s mostly white. That said…making this about race completely misses the point.

  3. Movements such as Civil & Women’s Rights, understood the true strength of social change comes from empowering the individual, NOT groups and certainly Not Representatives.

They marched toward a SOLUTION that granted individual power, control & choice over their personal and collective destiny.

Demanded the right to any seat on the bus, in every cafe, equal pay & rights etc.

Otherwise remain simply, another voice in the crowd.

Imagine the impact on the Media of a few hundred people, standing or marching in silence, on The Bohemian Highway, ALL Holding the Heart of Peace symbol, imagine that being repeated across the nation, and around the world.

Imagine thousands, millions demanding their Capital*Rights.

Imagine a Revolution in the Conversation which creates a path to Directly*Empower The*People. Unite the C.H.A.O.S. + Imagine

  4. Hello, I am a resident of Monte Rio. We are a small, low income community, with many disable people. The redwood forest, is full of baby animals, especially at this time of year. When so many people come to our little community, it can be very disruptive to the wildlife, dogs, cats and pets, as well as to the people who live here. I live on Bohemian Ave, and my 92 yr old mom lives with me. Please be respectful of our little community when you are here. Tread lightly on things while you are here, and realize that when you raise your voices in the woods, or trample on things, you may be scaring animals out of the woods, and preventing elderly or disabled people from resting. Really, we are asking that when you are here, you behave as well as you would behave when you are in your own communities. And, if you see people disrespecting things or people in this community, please, speak out. Thank you for listening! Louise

think of if you added some great pictures or video clips to give your
posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and video clips, this
site could definitely be one of the greatest in its field.
